Pogba's season with Manchester United is "over"!

Interim coach of Manchester United, Ralf Rangnick, revealed on Friday that his French international midfielder Paul Pogba may not play again this season, after the injury he suffered a few weeks before the end of his contract with the English club.

The 2018 World Cup-crowned player, who will become a free player on July 1, went out in the first minutes of the humiliating 4-0 loss against Liverpool on Tuesday due to a calf injury.

Rangnick said Friday on the sidelines of the upcoming match against host Arsenal on Saturday, which could destroy United’s hopes of occupying one of the qualifying spots for the Champions League if he fails to win, that “for Paul, and according to what the scan showed yesterday, it is unlikely that he will play until end of the season".

The midfielder graduated from United's junior teams and returned from a successful stint with Juventus in 2016 for a then world record deal.

However, he did not appear with the Red Devils at the level he was in Italy or with his country's team, with lackluster offers and constant talk about the possibility of his transfer to other clubs, which angered the fans.

Wayne, 29, was booed when he was substituted during the win over Norwich last week.

In response to a question about whether Pogba played his last game with United, Rangnick said, “The doctor told me that it will take at least four weeks for him to recover and the last game will be at the end of May (22 of it specifically), adding, “I don’t think there is a possibility that he can play Once again.”

Rangnick's speech comes a day after United announced the signing of Dutch coach Eric Ten Hag, Ajax coach, to supervise the team from next season.

"I knew Eric was one of the candidates the board spoke with," Rangnick commented. "Of course I told them, at least from what I saw and knew from the people who worked with Eric, that I thought he would be a good choice."

"I still think it's a very good option," he continued.

The German commented on the incident of captain Harry Maguire, who has been subject to criticism this season, a threat, Thursday, that there was a bomb in his house where he lives with his fiancée and two children, which led to a police search of the house, saying, "I didn't see him because I only learned about this horrific thing yesterday afternoon. And since Then I couldn't talk to him."

"This is yet another evidence of the crazy world we live in. I feel sorry for him but he knows everyone is on his side."
