Cristiano Ronaldo's family has thanked Liverpool fans for showing their support for the Manchester United striker and his fiancée following the tragic death of one of his newborn twins.

Anfield fans sang "You'll Never Walk Alone" in the seventh minute of Tuesday's match in their team's 4-0 victory over "Manu" in the English Premier League.

Cristiano's sister, Alma, who resides in Madeira, Portugal, expressed her thanks and appreciation for the gesture of the "Reds" fans, and wrote on the "My Story" service on Instagram, "Thank you, Liverpool fans, we will never forget what you did today (yesterday)."

Another sister, Katia, who lives in Brazil, wrote Beyond Football;

Quoting famous words from the Bible that have helped many people through difficult times, Dolores wrote on her Instagram in Portuguese, "Trust the Lord with all your heart and don't rely on your own understanding...Acknowledge Him in all your ways and He will direct your ways."

On Monday, the Portuguese national team captain and Manchester United scorer announced the death of one of his newborn twins.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce that our infant son has passed away. It is the greatest pain any parent can feel," Ronaldo said in a joint statement with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez on social media.

"Only the birth of our daughter gives us the strength to live through this moment with some hope and happiness," he explained.

Ronaldo concluded by saying, "We are all devastated by this loss, and we ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our little boy, you are our angel, we will always love you."

Ronaldo announced last year that he and his girlfriend will have twins, knowing that the Portuguese star has 4 children.
