Man United coach: I was embarrassed watching the harsh defeat against Liverpool

Manchester United coach Ralf Rangnick admitted that he was embarrassed watching his team's resounding fall at Liverpool's stadium with four goals without a response on Tuesday night in the English Premier League.

"Liverpool have better players than us and this is reflected in the result," Rangnick said.

"There will be a rebuilding process for sure, that was clear in the first three or four weeks for me, for us it's very embarrassing as a technical staff to sit here and participate in a press conference like this, we have to admit that they were better than us."

"We have to criticize ourselves. The way we played in the first 45 minutes was not what we wanted. In the absence of all the defensive midfielders, we decided to participate with five defenders. I don't think the first half has anything to do with the formation we played with."

"The way we conceded the first goal was not part of our game plan. It affects our confidence. The first half was not good."

He concluded by saying, "We changed our way of playing from five defenders to four, and the first 25 minutes of the second half were much better, but we did not score a goal either during that period ... The third goal is a long talk about it as well."
