The second loss makes Sharjah's mission difficult in the "Asian Champions"

Sharjah paid the price for the fatal defensive mistakes that cost him the points of his match against Qatar’s Al Rayyan, which ended with Sharjah losing three goals to one during the meeting that brought them together this evening, Tuesday, at King Fahd International Stadium in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, in the fourth round for the first group account in the AFC Champions League for football clubs Defensive errors caused the three goals conceded by the team, knowing that the first leg between the two teams ended in a 1-1 draw.

This loss is the second for Sharjah, whose score froze at four points, while Al Rayyan raised its score to seven points.

Al Rayyan advanced with an early goal “12”, scored by Sharjah defender Salem Sultan by mistake from a ball initially shot by Al Rayyan player Yohan Poli, but Sharjah’s response came quickly through Brazilian Caio Lucas, who scored the equalizing goal “18” with a powerful missile shot after he got rid of the defense Ryan confronted the guard.

Al Rayyan added the second goal "39" through his player Stephen Nzonzi from a header, taking advantage of the absence of defensive coverage of Sharjah.

Sharjah suffered a lot in this match, during which he could have come out with a better result than the one on which the match ended, but the defensive mistakes, along with the absence of the team's striking offensive force, made his opponent, Al Rayyan, more likely.

Despite the loss, Sharjah's opportunity to compete for the qualification for the quarter-finals in the tournament through second place still exists, but it needs to collect points for its remaining two matches against Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia and Esteghlal of Tajikistan.

Sharjah will meet with the defending champion, Al Hilal, next Monday, in the fifth and penultimate round, while the Qatari Al Rayyan will meet with Istiklal Dushanbe of Tajikistan.
