The death of Cristiano Ronaldo's son (video)

Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of the Portuguese national team and top scorer of Manchester United, announced on Monday the death of one of his newborn twins, certainly a shock to all fans of the player who celebrated just 48 hours ago his historic 60th hat-trick in his football career.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce that our infant son has passed away," Ronaldo said in a joint statement with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez on social media.

"It's the biggest pain any parent can feel," he added.

Ronaldo announced last year that he and his girlfriend would have twins, and published a photo of the twins by ringing before they were born.

"Only the birth of our daughter gives us the strength to live with this moment with some hope and happiness," Ronaldo said in a statement on his official account.

Ronaldo concluded by saying, "We are all devastated by this loss, and we ask for privacy in this very difficult time. Our little child, you are our angel. We will always love you." It should be noted that Ronaldo already has four sons.
