Miho Takagi, who won the gold medal in the speed skating of the Beijing Olympics, and her sister Nana, who retired this month after winning the silver medal, attended the debriefing session in Makubetsu-cho, Hokkaido.

At the Beijing Olympics speed skating, Miho Takagi won four medals, including a women's 1000-meter gold medal, and her sister Nana won a silver medal in the women's group Patchute.

In Makubetsu-cho, her hometown, about 260 local elementary and junior high school students attended the Olympic debriefing session on the 17th, and Mayor Haruyoshi Iida awarded the two people the "Special Townspeople Honor Award".

At the debriefing session, there was also a corner to answer children's questions, and when asked about their specialty, Nana answered, "I don't cook much, but I make miso soup every day."

Miho said with a smile, "I often make curry that doesn't use water, but I don't know if it's good enough to say I'm good at it, so I want to be good at it."

In addition, Nana, who retired this month, said at the end of the debriefing session, "Thanks to the support of the people in the town, I was able to run toward my dream without going off the road," she said. I expressed my gratitude for the support I received.

Miho also said, "The passion from the locals has become our energy and courage to move forward. We hope that everyone will do their best to liven up the town."
