Jordan's youth respond to Douglas' professional "smoking" after being replaced in the Al-Jazeera match

The Jordan Youth Club responded to the rumors and news about its Brazilian professional Douglas, who resorted to "smoking", after being replaced in the team's match against Al-Jazira for the second round of the Jordanian Football Professional League, which ended with the victory of Shabab Al-Jordan by three goals to two.

The Jordan Youth Club said in an official statement: "Some sports pages on social networking sites dealt with baseless news about the Brazilian professional Douglas, and that he was smoking after being substituted in the team's last match against Al-Jazira in the league championship."

The statement added: “The player Douglas took a medicine capsule after replacing it, in addition to being a non-smoker.

The club explained: "The Jordan Youth Administration calls on the pages to investigate accuracy in the future, and to verify the authenticity of the news before publishing it in this way that aims to harm the reputation of the club and everyone in it."

He pointed out that "Jordan's youth will not hesitate in the future to prosecute anyone who repeatedly spreads such malicious lies and rumours."

He concluded by saying: "We were, and still are, owners of a sports mission whose first and last goal is to serve the country and its sport in all its forms and shapes."
