Russia's ski chairman Jelena Välbe wants to run for re-election as a board member of Fis, the international ski federation.

It provoked strong reactions, and the ski chairmen of Sweden, Finland, Norway and Poland have said that they do not want to vote for her.

- It's one thing not to vote for her - but should she be able to vote at all?

Should she even be eligible for election ?, said the Swedish Ski Association's chairman Karin Mattsson to Expressen.

"Russophobic psychosis"

Opposition to Välbe, who supports Vladimir Putin and described Ukrainians as Nazis, does not appreciate Alexander Bolshunov's coach Yuri Borodavko.

- Let them say what they want!

This is russophobic psychosis!

There is no need to answer them.

They compete to pee the most on the Russian people, says Borodavko to Sport-express.

Jelena Välbe, who during her skiing career won three Olympic relay golds and fourteen World Cup golds (ten individual), has been a board member of Fis since 2018. The election of a new board will take place at the end of May.
