Sweden and Denmark are two of the giants of recent years on the men's side with six final places and three golds together at the last six international championships.

Sweden took its first title in 20 years when the team defeated Spain in the European Championship final in January.

Denmark won the bronze match in the European Championships and in terms of the World Cup, Denmark won both 2019 and 2021. For Sweden, this is the first home international match after the European Championship gold.

The national team season now ends in Malmö Arena, which is one of five Swedish arenas in the upcoming world championships in January.

Denmark will also play their group matches in Malmö during the World Cup, so there will probably be a lot of Danish spectators in Malmö Arena in January and also at this Easter Eve match when it comes to a real prestige meeting.

Sweden and Denmark met three times last year.

Denmark won the World Cup final in Cairo with 26-24 and an international match in Hillerød before the Olympics with 31-30, while Sweden won with 33-30 when the teams met in the group stage of the Olympics.
