Professional baseball Yakult has begun discussions with the city side to move to Moriya City, Ibaraki Prefecture, saying that facilities such as the 2nd Army's stadium and indoor practice field in Toda City, Saitama Prefecture are aging.

Yakult has a stadium for the 2nd army, an indoor practice field, a dormitory for athletes, and a clubhouse in Toda City, Saitama Prefecture, and is engaged in training young people.

According to the team, these facilities have been used since the 1950s and have deteriorated, and the 2nd army stadium on the riverbed was considered to be relocated because it was sometimes flooded by rain.

Under these circumstances, Moriya City, Ibaraki Prefecture, proposed to attract facilities, and on the 15th, the team started concrete discussions with the city side toward the realization of the relocation.

Moriya City is within 40 kilometers from the center of Tokyo, and depending on the city, you can reach the Jingu Baseball Stadium, which is the base of the city, via the Joban Expressway in about 50 minutes by car at the earliest.

The team and Moriya City will discuss the selection of candidate sites and the cost of relocation with the aim of relocating in Reiwa 8 in the future.
