Mabkhout revives Al Jazira's hopes in the AFC Champions League with a golden goal

Al-Jazira team revived its chances of qualifying for the second round of the AFC Champions League by defeating its Indian rival Mumbai City 1-0 in the confrontation that brought together the two teams this evening, Thursday, at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, as part of the third round of the competition.

Al-Jazira striker, Ali Mabkhout, scored the game's only goal in the 40th minute from the penalty mark, to give his team the first three points in the competition's journey, after it had lost 1-2 to the Iraqi Air Force, and Al Shabab Saudi 0-3.

The line of defense of the representative of the Emirates, behind them, goalkeeper Ali Khaseef, was stubborn in front of the successive attacks of the Mumbai team, which fought most of the second half in the Al Jazeera region.

It is the first match in which the "Pride of Abu Dhabi" comes out with a clean sheet, after it conceded 5 goals in two matches, 2 against Al Air Force and 3 against Al Shabab.

The confrontation between the two teams will be renewed next Monday at the same stadium in the fourth round of the competition.
