With the last note of "Golden Bridge on the River of Sorrows" returning to stillness, Sui Wenjing/Han Cong completed the free skating competition.

Fighting side by side for 15 years, they have experienced peaks and valleys, and finally won the coveted gold medal at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

As sung in "The Golden Bridge on the River of Sorrows",

"When the world is difficult and it is hard to find a helping hand, I will lean down like the bridge over the flood to help you cross it."

Inside and outside the arena, Sui Wenjing and Han Cong, who have completely different personalities, accompany each other. They are the best partners and friends who know each other best.

A few days ago, China-Singapore Sports had an exclusive conversation with Sui Wenjing and Han Cong. They talked about the 15-year company with each other.

In order to complete the 4-week twist, Sui Wenjing had to overcome the fear of falling on the ice, and she broke down and cried many times because of the pressure of weight control and large training volume.

While waiting for his partner to return from surgery, Han Cong could only "borrow" someone else's dance partner to practice.

All of this has been rewarded the sweetest at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

China-Singapore Sports: What are you two doing after the Beijing Winter Olympics?

Han Cong: Recently, I shot a lot of magazines and advertisements, and I also took time to go to Universal Studios to play and participate in its parade.

Sui Wenjing: I thought before that, should we show off such good muscles?

So after the Winter Olympics, I contacted the magazine to take pictures, and left my good figure in the picture.

I feel very tired lately, but very fulfilling.

I am also writing an autobiography recently, so that everyone can see a different me.

Brother Han Cong, the coach, and many teammates and friends will help me write part of the book.

I hope that through my growth experience, more people can go to the ice rink.

China-Singapore Sports: The two have done a lot of "cross-border" things. What do you think of athletes' cross-border?

Han Cong: We are showing different colors, so that more people can see the other side of athletes.

These are mainly to attract more people to pay attention to ice and snow sports.

Doing these things is to carry forward the spirit of the Beijing Winter Olympics, and we are working hard in this direction.

Sui Wenjing: I never thought that a person can only do one thing in his life. This is my life entry.

From many years ago, I hoped to be a "slash youth".

We've built a sport in 20 years, so why not try something else?

Other experiences can also help me become a better athlete.

I used the fragmented time to take online classes, and in the process of learning, I saw a new world.

In life, you always have to keep trying, don't think that you have only one possibility, people live in this world, there are infinite possibilities.

China-Singapore Sports: After winning the Beijing Winter Olympics, has the mentality of the two changed?

Han Cong: It has indeed changed.

If I go to face the next game, my mood may be different.

Doing one thing completely on the road of life, having achieved success, can also be helpful to other things.

I have a very strange feeling, like I am sublimating, constantly transforming.

Sui Wenjing: I don't feel anything.

The Beijing Winter Olympics is still a starting point. I still start from scratch and learn new things like before.

For example, when I met Su Yiming, I learned his aggressiveness and courage; with Han Cong, I learned his steadiness.

Everyone is my teacher.

Next, I will try some new things, including learning choreography, choreography, etc. Through the accumulation of time, I will accumulate my art appreciation ability.

partner

China-Singapore Sports: To win the Beijing Winter Olympics, it is very important to complete the 4-week twist with high quality.

This action is a test of the tacit understanding and trust between partners. Do you also encounter difficulties during training?

How to overcome it?

Han Cong: Twisting for 4 weeks. This movement has been practiced since we were young, and the process is quite difficult.

At that time, Xiao Sui was light in weight and not that tall, so there was more of a gap between the two of us, and it would be better to complete the movements.

With age and injuries, there have also been dangerous situations in which falls have occurred during practice.

But we overcame these problems because we all thought that this Winter Olympics would win glory for the country.

From the beginning of practicing 2 or 3 times a day to 5 or 10 times a day later, this is a very complicated and difficult process.

  Sui Wenjing:

I love it and hate it for 4 weeks.

Because the height of more than three meters fell directly on the ice, it was a test of the mentality when doing the next action.

But I was the kind of trust that could put my life in his hands.

In the last 3 months before the Winter Olympics, I tried my best to control my weight, controlled sugar, increased training volume, and the pressure of the Winter Olympics.

All these once made me breathless, and I often started crying as soon as I closed the door in the room.

During the Winter Olympics, I might have weighed 77 or 78 pounds. Before I played, I fainted, and after the end, I fainted again.

When I fainted in the elevator for the first time, I felt someone was pinching me. After I woke up, I said why my mouth hurt so much.

(laugh)

But I'm also especially grateful for Twist 4 Weeks.

Without this action, we would not have been able to win the championship.

China-Singapore Sports: Both have the experience of training alone after their partner's surgery, waiting for the other's return.

How do you feel when you wait?

Han Cong: Waiting is a very painful thing.

In 2017, Sui Wenjing had an operation. I watched other people put on ice every day. When my hands were

itchy, I went to borrow other people's female companions.

(laugh)

At that time, I hoped that Wen Jing could come back soon and spend it through repeated torment.

Wen Jing came back to ice for the first time. The doctor said she would only be given 10 minutes, but we slid and skated for 15 minutes.

The doctor saw that there was no major problem, and we felt very happy at that time.

Sui Wenjing: I laughed like a 100-pound fat man, I was probably a 100-pound fat man at that time.

(laugh)

In fact, after Brother Han Cong's surgery, my suffering was worse than that, and I don't even know when he will come back.

He was able to visit me in the hospital during my operation, but due to the prevention and control of the epidemic, I could only prepare for a physical competition in Sanya by myself.

We were in a tennis court, under the sun in Sanya, and after three days of practice, I had several dark spots.

Practice three times a day and keep lifting irons.

I remember buying a cake at that time, but everyone was controlling their weight, and no one ate with

me. The feeling of loneliness made me feel very uncomfortable.

time

China-Singapore Sports: What are the most satisfying and regrettable differences between the two partners for so many years?

Han Cong: The most satisfying thing is that I have gained the best friends, dance partners, coaches and everyone around me. The regrets I once had are all good memories at this moment.

These good and bad are combined together. When you reach a certain stage, look back and find that they are actually good, and they are all for you to grow and mature.

If the two of us did not face the difficulties together and stayed halfway, we would definitely not see the scenery like today.

  Sui Wenjing:

I think everything is the best arrangement, everything is the gift of life.

I especially want to continue to love the world because I know so many people love me too.

It's a pity that I don't have more time to spend with my family.

I haven't been with my family for at least 10 New Years before, and I hope to spend more time with them in the future.

Every time I go home, I feel like the happiest child.

Although the time was very short, it was all clothes and meals, and even my grandmother would cook hard vegetables for me when I woke up in the morning.

Zhongxin Sports: It seems that the two of you are very different. How do you deal with this difference in normal times?

Han Cong: We are originally people of different personalities. We see things from different angles and have different viewpoints.

These different points of view help us to see many things from the perspective of the other party.

At this time, we will reach a state of resonance, knowing that we should go in one direction, and use her perspective and mine to fill in the missing piece of our two, and achieve a better state.

China-Singapore Sports: Many people are particularly concerned about when the two will return to the game. Is there a specific timetable?

  Sui Wenjing:

There is no specific time, but we are already discussing the next training plan, including the details of the arrangement, which will be determined according to the recovery of the body.

Next, I may have to continue to learn and enrich myself so that I can continue to work hard on the field of life and figure skating as a better version of myself.
