Died world champion in figure skating in 1981 Vorobyova

“The Russian Figure Skating Federation expresses its condolences to the family and friends of Irina Vyacheslavovna Vorobyova.

The memory of an outstanding athlete will forever remain in the history of world figure skating and in the hearts of all her fans, ”the statement says.

During her career, she paired with Alexander Vlasov and Igor Lisovsky.

Together with the latter in 1981, she won the World and European Championships.

And with Vlasov, she won the gold of the USSR championship in 1976. 

Earlier it was reported that Olympic hockey champion Sergei Yashin died at the age of 61.
