After three goalless periods and 65 shots fired, Johansen enlisted the help of two Swedes to secure the victory.

Johansen played his way forward with the help of Mattias Ekholm who found his way with the puck in game three against three.

Filip Forsberg also got an assist, even though it was far-fetched.

- I saw the opening and tried to get the puck in, it bounced but I take it, said Johansen in Viaplay's broadcast from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville where the yellow-clad fans got to see the home team's 500th victory in the arena.

- Thank you so much "Smashville", Johansen shouted to the fans.

Forsberg's goal failed for offside

With the victory, Nashville has seized a playoff spot via a wild card in the close Western Conference.

Forsberg was close to breaking the deadlock already in the first period, but his goal was challenged by San Jose and after video review, it was rejected for offside.

Erik Karlsson's San Jose lost its seventh straight game, touching the worst suite this season.

It was a goalkeeping match and that Finnkampen was won by Nashville's Juuse Saros against San Jose's Kaapo Kahkonen.

- I have known Kahkonen since I was 16 years old and we played against each other in the Finnish junior league.

This match reminded me of that time and it was a fun thing from a goalkeeper perspective, says match winner Saros.
