A Brazilian soccer coach has been dismissed after he head-butted a Brazilian soccer player in a Brazilian Fifth Division football match on Sunday.

The disgraceful incident occurred during the match between Desportivo Ferrovia and Nova Venezia.

Rafael Soriano, coach of Desportivo Ferroviaria, stormed the pitch to protest a decision after the end of the first half.

He was given a yellow card for his protests, at which point sage Marcelle Neto tried to defuse the argument.

Soriano reacted angry because of her interference, and hit her with a header, which caused a shock among the players.

Neto was quickly removed from the coach, who was sent off by the main referee with a red card.

Soriano began to leave the field, but turned around and tried to reach Neto for the second time, but a group of riot police prevented him from attacking Hikma again.

Club Desportivo Ferrovaria have since confirmed the sacking of coach Soriano.

The team Desportivo Ferrovaria declared that it "renounces violence of any kind, be it physical, verbal, moral or emotional, especially against women, and we sympathize with the auxiliary wisdom Marcelli Neto, who makes us ready for whatever is necessary".

And he added - in a statement - "We also inform you that after what happened, coach Rafael Soriano has been dismissed from his position at the club."

The club will also provide "professional psychological assistance and develop measures to combat any kind of violence against women inside and outside stadiums."

Earlier this season, Sao Paulo's William Ribeiro was arrested for kicking a referee in the head after he awarded a free kick against him in a match in Brazil's sixth division.

The referee left Rodrigo Crivelaro unconscious in the attack, and Ribeiro was later charged with attempted murder.
