Detective Tanaka, who participated in the Pyeongchang Olympics figure skating and men's singles, has revealed on his SNS that he will retire from active duty.

Tanaka is 27 years old from Okayama prefecture.

He started competing when he was 7 years old, and he has been prominent since he was a junior. He competed with Yuzuru Hanyu of the same year to improve his skiing skills, and won the silver medal in his first appearance at the 2011 World Junior Championships.

After making his senior debut at the age of 19, he played an active part in the Grand Prix series and became the Olympic representative in the 2017 All Japan Championship, which is the season for the Pyeongchang Olympics, in second place after Shoma Uno.

He was 18th in the tournament.

Last year's All Japan Championship, which aimed to participate in the Olympic Games for the second time in a row, was 11th and missed the national team.

On the 11th, Tanaka updated his SNS and said, "I have decided to retire from the figure skating competition that I have continued for 20 years. The experiences I gained throughout my competitive life are irreplaceable treasures in my life. It was revealed that he would retire from active duty.

In the future, he has expressed his intention to balance the path of a professional skater who skates at ice shows and the path of a leader, and Tanaka said, "I am prepared to balance activities very difficult. We would like to bring about a synergistic effect by achieving both. We will make further efforts to contribute to the figure skating world as both professionals and instructors. "
