In early April, it was revealed that the Danish football star Nadia Nadim, has taken on the role of ambassador for the men's soccer World Cup in Qatar.

Nadim was born in Afghanistan but fled the country to Denmark when she was twelve years old after her father was killed by the Taliban.

Following the decision to advocate for the Qatar World Cup, the organization chooses to break off cooperation.
Danish Refugee Council is the country's largest humanitarian organization.
