Golf superstar Tiger Woods ended the 86th Masters in Augusta with a weak round of 78 on his celebrated comeback.

The 46-year-old Californian was on Sunday before the end of the traditional major tournament with a total of 13 strokes above the standard for the time being in shared 47th place.

Woods had sensationally made the cut for the 22nd time in a row 14 months after his serious car accident on the famous Magnolia Lane.

"It was an incredible feeling.

Words can't even describe it.

When you think about the predictions, and then standing here now,” said Woods after his final lap.

On the final day, the former number one traditionally ran in a red shirt over the par 72 course of the Augusta National Golf Club and made five bogeys and a double bogey.

Woods had already played a 78 in the US state of Georgia on Saturday – the worst round of his masters career.

The 15-time Major and five-time Masters winner surprisingly celebrated his comeback at what is probably the most important individual tournament in the world, causing euphoria far beyond the golf scene.

In February 2021, after his accident south of Los Angeles, he even had to fear losing his right leg.
