Britta Johansson Norgren led with 97 points before the season's last race in Ski Classics, and managed the starting position in the very best way.

The Swede lay for a long time and pulled in a dense cluster of five skiers, but with 30 km left of the 70 km long race between Ylläs and Levi in Finland, she really increased the pace.

The increase in tempo gave the desired effect and the dense cluster went from five to three skiers.

- What an effort she makes in this final race, said SVT's expert Anders Blomquist during the race.

With 1.2 miles left, the cluster had shrunk further.

The victory was between Astrid Öyre Slind and Johansson Norgren who both tried to shake off their competitor - but without success.

In the race, Johansson Norgren was first and also got a few meters on Öyre Slind.

The 39-year-old Swede finished strong and won his last race of his career 2.5 seconds ahead of the Norwegian.

On the men's side, Andreas Nygaard, who was in a superior lead before the race, won the overall cup.

The Norwegian finished the season with a third place in Finland and thus took home the total.

The battle for second place in the cup was between the Swedish duo Max Novak and Emil Persson.

Novak and Persson followed for almost the entire race and lay together in the crowd for just over 60 km.

The decision came with 1.2 km left when Persson and Johan Hoel increased the pace.

Novak was forced to drop and with 8.7 kilometers left of the race, he was a full 19 seconds behind Persson and the battle for second place was decided.

In the race, Persson was stronger than Hoel and won 0.9 before the Norwegian.

- So damn good to finish like this.

I felt I had a good body and good skis and wanted to control the race and then wait for the sprint.

I did not feel that there was any reason for me to withdraw, says Persson.

For Novak, it ended up being a sixth place - 1.28.7 after Persson - which was enough to be third in the overall cup.

- I had nothing to answer with so it was a fair victory.

I can not be angry because I did not have the strength at the end, says Novak.
