In the qualifiers for the handball league, Redbergslids IK faced Kungälvs HK.

Redbergslid started best and won the first match 18-27, most of the champions followed up the victory but another victory - and before Friday's match, Kungälvs was whipped to win to keep the dreams of playing in handball's fine room alive.

They did not succeed, despite RIK letting in the first balls of the match.

Swedish gold hero Andreas Palicka, who joined last winter, stood for a monster match and landed on a save percentage of 48.

Four Redbergslid players managed to become five-goal shooters, Elliot Stenmalm, Anton Schultze, Carl Hamberg and Ludvig Högberg.

This is RIK's second straight qualifier and now they are focusing on next season and aiming to break the heavy trend.

- It is hard work that will be required and we must lay the foundations, says Redbergslid's coach Magnus "Bagarn" Johansson to GP.

Aranäs secured the contract and Skånela has a match ball

In the other qualifying finals, Aranäs secured continued play in the highest league when they defeated Amo 38-36 - Amo who last season again lost in the direct qualifier for the handball league against Redbergslids.

In the third qualifying match, Skånela managed to pinch an important challenge victory against Önnered and is a win away from the fine room.

Gothenburgers Önnered are bad out.
