Sweden's team Edin took a lead-heavy victory against Canada in the curling World Cup in Las Vegas - but it was a long way off.

Canada won the second round but Team Edin bounced back and was able to equalize in the next round.

But in the sixth round, Sweden withdrew for the first time in the match.

In the end, Team Edin decided with their last stone and thus Canada went on their first loss in this World Cup.

- It was fun to play, we had both some good and some bad stones.

It was great fun and it was a good win for us, says Niklas Edin in SVT's broadcast.

The first and second after the basic series go directly to the semifinals, while teams placed in places three to six make it to the quarterfinals.

Team Edin has four games left of the base round where Canada still leads.

- What a match they make, says SVT Sports expert Eva Lund.
