A news report stated that the Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, retracted his demands, and was closer to renewing his contract with Liverpool FC, after weeks of disputes that increased the odds of Salah leaving the team.

And the British newspaper, “Mirror”, said today, Sunday, that Salah is ready to reduce his financial demands and agree to an offer from Liverpool FC to renew his current contract, which expires in 2023.

The newspaper stated that Salah feels his importance in Liverpool and admires the reactions he received after the difficult period he went through recently, after losing the African Nations title and his failure to ascend with the Egyptian team to the World Cup.

She said that the Egyptian star would not stick to his previous demand for a salary equal to what Cristiano Ronaldo, the best-paid player in the English Premier League, gets, who receives more than half a million euros per week.

She indicated that Salah is ready to reach an agreement with Liverpool that may include renewing the current contract for a period of 3 years with an optional additional year, provided that he receives an increase in salary, but not to the size that he previously requested.

The disputes that became public in the past months reinforced the fans' fears of Salah leaving after 5 distinguished seasons with Liverpool, in which he broke records and contributed to leading the team to achieve important titles.

The Egyptian star is enjoying his best season so far by scoring 28 goals, and he aims to win the third Golden Boot in 5 seasons in England.
