• 45,000 people were registered this year for the 2022 Paris marathon

  • The title went to Deso Gelmisa (Ethiopia), winner in 2 hours 5 minutes and 7 seconds.

  • Third place went to Morhad Amdouni (France) who won the 19-year-old French record in 2 hours 5 minutes and 22 seconds!

It is early, very early this Sunday morning and already thousands of runners are crowding the corridors of the Paris metro to reach the Champs Elysées, the starting point for this 2022 edition of the Paris marathon.

How brave !

Because in addition to the early hour, it is barely 8 am… It is very cold this Sunday in Paris.

But we quickly forget all these inconveniences when we arrive on the most beautiful avenue in the world.

The marathon runners train, sing, march with flags… Yes, there was a “Gwenn ha du”, the Breton standard, in the crowd.

“Looks like an influencer”

Justine Murat arrives alone on Avenue Foch to drop off her belongings.

As usual, she immediately puts us at ease: “I'm very happy to have you with me, I'm less stressed as a result.

“Big smile, fluorescent outfit… Despite a short night, the marathon runner is in good shape, “I must have slept 6 hours in all, I hope not to get tired, but hey, the adrenaline should take over .

“In her pockets, Justine does not forget to take her ventolin and other inhalers… But above all, she takes several t-shirts in her bag “it looks like an influencer, a camera follows me and I have several outfits for the race” .

La Tourangelle will fly high the colors of the associations it supports to overcome cystic fibrosis.

Because Justine is not running just for herself, she will draw her strength from the support she receives.

“The kitty exploded, people I don't know donated money, it's crazy!

she exclaims.

"I stopped peeing, so let's say I did 4 hours anyway"

Justine leaves to warm up in her starting hatch.

10:32 a.m., it's time for her to hit the streets of Paris.

"I hope to make a stopwatch close to 4 hours", she whispered to us when she left.

At avenue Foch, the “finishers” are gradually arriving at the finish line.

Some are screaming, crying, falling to the ground… At 2.50 pm, after 4.12 hours of racing, Justine crosses the finish line quietly and heads off to collect her medal.

She admits, “I'm a little disappointed not to be closer to 4 hours… But hey, I stopped peeing, so let's say that I did 4 hours anyway”.

A disappointment that is quickly chased away, a few minutes later, she will find her relatives who have come in large numbers to support her.

Before our paths part, she slips one last joke, "Look,

She's my reporter!
