- I will play my own game and not look too much at the scoreboard, says Kupcho, who has been a professional since 2019, in Viaplay's broadcast from the classic Mission Hills course in Rancho Mirage in a hot and sunny California.

Kupcho went around on 64 strokes, her lowest score on a round and the lowest recorded in a major a third lap.

She went with the Thai Patty Tavatanakit who had an eagle position on the last hole but had to settle for a birdie and 70 strokes on the round.

Thailand on the rise

- It was nice to see Pat lose so much.

Everything worked for me, says Kupcho who will also play the leader ball with Tavatanakit, one of eight Thai shoes among the 44 best, a Thai golf wonder on the women's side.

Madelene Sagström is split eleven, five strokes from second place, before the last round while Anna Nordqvist is 26th, two strokes behind Sagström.

This is the last time the major is decided on Misssion Hills with the famous pond Poppies Pond where the winner traditionally takes a dip wearing a bathrobe.

The competition has been played at Mission Hills since 1972 and has been a major since 1983. After losing sponsors, the competition will be moved to Houston next year.

To the results.
