The organizing committee said in a statement yesterday that the tournament will launch its activities with the padel tennis game hosted by the padel tennis courts in the Nad Al Sheba complex, and the local competitions include six categories: the men’s junior category, in which citizens and residents with a rating below the top 50 local players, and the middle category, are allowed to participate. Men, in which citizens and residents with a local rating below the top 25 local players, and the advanced category are men, and participation in it is limited to local professional players only, whether citizens or residents of the country, and the professional category is men, for all professional players internationally and locally without being bound by the residence requirement, and the category The double is men, and the team consists of only two players, one of whom is an Emirati player, and the middle category is women, and it is allowed to participate in this category for female citizens and residents with a local rating without the best 25 local players.

The organizing committee included a new padel tennis tournament for the Gulf teams, which was added this year to the tournament's competition programme.

The draw for the Gulf Paddle Tennis Championship for men included Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in its first group, while the second group included the UAE, Kuwait, and the Sultanate of Oman. and Bahrain, while the first group included: Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

The qualifying rounds competitions in the Gulf category will be held in the group system, and qualify for the first and second final rounds from each group. The final rounds will be played with a one-time loser system.

The organizing committee explained that “the sport of padel tennis has proven its importance through its presence in the program of the Nad Al Sheba sports tournament since the first edition. It was hosted by the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex for nine years, and the Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament provided support for this sport and provided it with ways to grow and spread, until the padel tennis became the most popular sport at the state level and for all ages and nationalities.

The Badil tennis courts in the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex have also become the meeting place for amateur and professional champions of different nationalities, as well as the meeting place for Arab, Gulf and Asian teams.”

The organizing committee held a press conference yesterday, at the headquarters of the Dubai Sports Council, which was attended by the course director, Hassan Al Mazrouei, the head of the technical committee, Adel Al Bannai, and the CEO of the Dubai Club for People of Determination, Majid Al-Osaimi, in the presence of the managers and representatives of the teams participating in the volleyball championship, the Padel tennis and basketball championship wheelchairs;
