Lee Yu-bin, a silver medalist in the women's short track relay at the Beijing Olympics, will not participate in the world championships due to an injury.

An official from the ice skating industry said, "Lee Bin has been removed from her national team due to her personal medical treatment, and she will not be able to participate in the world championships."

Lee Yoo-bin said she joined the national team early last month and has been preparing for the world championships, but she's not feeling well, and she was discharged from the Jincheon Athletes' Village last week to focus on her treatment.

Lee Yu-bin is a key member of the Korean women's short track, winning the women's relay gold medal at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and the silver medal in the women's relay at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

In the four World Cups held before the Olympics, she won two gold medals and one silver medal in the 1,500 m to become world No.

However, at the Olympics, she shed tears of disappointment as she only won a no medal in the individual event, where she placed 6th in the 1,500m in the main event.

Park Ji-yoon, who was a relay member of the Beijing Olympics, will replace Lee Yu-bin's vacant seat.

Jiyoon Park, who was training for her team, joined the national team last week.

With this, the women's national team, including Shim Seok-hee, Choi Min-jung, Kim A-rang, Seo Hwi-min, and Park Ji-yoon, will scramble for the World Championships, which will open in Montreal, Canada on the 8th.

The national team will depart on the 3rd to go hunting for medals at the World Championships.
