There were seven podium places, of which two victories, in the World Cup for Viktor Andersson.

The highlight of his career was at home last year when he finished second in Idre.

- To take a World Cup podium at home in Sweden was a very big goal for a long time.

There was a lot that clapped at the same time, says Andersson.

The decision to end his career has been growing for a while as the results have not really gone his way.

- It feels like the right decision.

If you hesitate a millisecond for too long, you end up last and you do not really want to take the chances that are in front of your eyes then I think it's time to move on.

How does it feel to be over?

- It feels very surreal, you have lived in this since you started high school.

But it also feels absolutely incredible to look at it from the outside and understand what experiences you have had and what experiences you have gained along the way.

Viktor Andersson has no plan for the future yet.

But this autumn, a big change awaits as the family grows in September.

- It came as a very, very gratifying bonus.

I have a summer of recharging and a very different pre-season.

It's good timing, when it starts to smell like camp it smells like a diaper instead.
