The fateful time has come to judge the success or failure of Korean football in the 2022 FIFA Qatar World Cup, which will begin in November.

The Qatar World Cup group draw will be held at the Exhibition and Convention Center in Doha, Qatar, tomorrow (2nd) at 1 am in our time.

Thirty-two countries participate in the World Cup finals, and they are divided into eight groups of four countries, and then the first and second places in each group compete for the championship in the round of 16.

This group draw will be held with 29 countries, including the host country Qatar, confirmed to advance to the finals.

The remaining three countries will be screened in the intercontinental playoffs, European PO, to be held in June.

In the intercontinental PO, where two tickets will go to the owner, New Zealand-Costa Rica and the Asian PO United Arab Emirates-Australia match winner and Peru competed in a confrontation.

The other one will be taken by the winner of European PO Group A, which has been postponed due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Wales, who have advanced to the final by beating Austria, will face the winner of the Scotland-Ukraine match.

As with the 2018 Russia tournament, all participating countries except the host country were seeded in order of FIFA rankings.

It was based on the men's soccer world rankings announced on March 31st.

Qatar ranked 51st out of 29 confirmed countries and the top 7 FIFA ranking teams: Brazil (1st), Belgium (2nd), France (3rd), Argentina (4th), England (5th), Spain (7th) Above) and Portugal (8th) enter port 1.

Port 2 includes Mexico (9th), Netherlands (10th), Denmark (11th), Germany (12th), Uruguay (13th), Switzerland (14th), USA (15th), Croatia (16th) ) belongs to.

A group with Germany or the Netherlands could be the best 'death group' of this tournament.

Korea, which maintained 29th in the FIFA rankings, is Senegal (20th), Iran (21st), Japan (23rd), Morocco (24th), Serbia (25th), Poland (26th), Tunisia (35th) and tied to port 3.

In the last port 4, Cameroon (37th), Canada (38th), Ecuador (46th), Saudi Arabia (49th), and Ghana (60th) were placed.

FIFA has decided to put all three teams that will be screened for PO in June, regardless of their ranking, in port 4.

With Qatar automatically assigned to the 1st place in Group A, in the group lottery, the remaining 7 countries in Port 1 will be selected in turn and placed in the order of Groups B to H.

Next, participating countries are drawn by lot in the order of ports 2, 3, and 4 and placed in groups A to H in order.

As a general rule of the World Cup draw, countries from the same port and from the same continent cannot be placed in a group.

However, in Europe, where 13 countries participate, up to 2 countries can enter a group, so 5 out of 8 groups will have two European teams.

Korea, which entered port 3, will be able to avoid teams such as Senegal, Serbia and Poland belonging to the same port, while also playing against teams with lower FIFA rankings in the group stage.

Korea, which was port 4 at the World Cup in Russia 4 years ago, which was eliminated with 1 win and 2 losses and 3rd place in the group, was tied to a group with powerful teams such as Germany, Sweden and Mexico.

However, no team is as good as any other team in port 4, and this time, the PO team can't put you down any more.

Wales (18th), Peru (22nd), and Ukraine (27th), who are aiming for Qatar through PO, are teams that could enter port 3 in the order of FIFA rankings.

For Korea, if you are in the same group with Brazil in port 1, Germany or the Netherlands in port 2, and Wales in port 4 (at the time of advancing to the finals), it may be meaningless to enter the 3rd port.

On the other hand, if you are paired with the United States in Port 2 and Ecuador in Port 4, it is worth trying.

However, experts agree that there is no such thing as a happy pair for us.

At the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Korea was evaluated as the best in the group with Belgium, Russia and Algeria.

However, in the group stage, the results were worse than in the Russian tournament, where they were at the bottom of the group with 1 draw and 2 losses.

Meanwhile, at the draw ceremony on this day, soccer legends Kafu (Brazil) and Rotar Mateus (Germany), Adel Ahmed Malala (Qatar), Ali Daei (Iran), Bora Milutinovic (Serbia/Mexico), J- Jay Okocha (Nigeria), Larva Mager (Algeria) and Tim Cahill (Australia) will participate in the draw.
