Egyptian players suffered laser attacks from spectators even before the start of the second match against Senegal.

The use of lasers was banned for fear of obstructing players' vision and damaging their eyes, but numerous laser beams harassed Egyptian ace Mohamed Salah as well as coach Keiros.

In the 4th minute of the first half, a laser was poured on the Egyptian goalkeeper's face during Senegal's free-kick, and Egypt's own goal later drew the two teams 1-1 on aggregate in the first and second legs.

In the penalty shoot-out, the laser attack reached its peak.

As the first kicker, Salah's face was covered in laser beams green enough to make him think he was at the club, and Salah blew his ball into the sky as if he had lost focus.

Senegal won the finals after three Egyptian players who were subjected to indiscriminate laser baptism missed.

Senegalese spectators threw water bottles at Salah and even smashed the windows of the Egyptian squad after the match.

The Egyptian Football Association has officially protested against FIFA, and criticism has continued against Senegalese football.

Nigeria's home stadium, which lost to Ghana and failed to advance to the finals, was literally in chaos.

Hundreds of angry spectators broke into the ground, breaking benches and other violence, and the police fired tear gas to quell it. On the final day of the African qualifiers, the atmosphere of fear continued.
