After last week's first leg matches, everything will be decided on Tuesday March 29 for the last places in the Africa Zone for the 2022 World Cup.

Senegal - Egypt (go 0-1): the Lions must wake up

Recent African champion, Senegal must regain its virtues to overcome the defeat suffered in Egypt (1-0), the opponent it defeated in the CAN final, for the second leg of the World Cup.

"I told my players to raise their heads, (...) to remain calm and serene and above all to have confidence in us", launched Aliou Cissé as soon as the defeat of Cairo was consumed.

The African champions will benefit from the madness of their supporters in the brand new stadium in Diamniadio, the new town about thirty kilometers from Dakar.

"We are going to play in front of our public. The Egyptian public has been extraordinary. I believe that Diamniadio's will also play its part on the return and inch Allah we will pass", launched Aliou Cissé.

The coach risks however being deprived of Abdou Diallo in central defense, released at the start of the first leg, hit in the adductors.

But Carlos Queiroz, the Portuguese coach of Egypt, could have to redesign his entire hinge: Mahmoud el-Wensh is suspended and Mohamed Abdelmonem left with a bloody nose on the way out.

Arrived this morning from Cairo, the lions of Senegal trained for the first time at the Abdoulaye Wade stadium in Diamniadio.

Algeria - Cameroon (go 1-0): the Fennecs want to forget the CAN

Algeria, humiliated during the CAN in January 2022 in Cameroon, has returned to its best.

In the first leg, the Fennecs took an option for qualification for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar by beating Cameroon 1-0 in Douala.

Dominated, the Cameroon of Rigobert Song, former captain turned coach, must turn the tide in Blida on Tuesday if he wants to play an eighth World Cup.

Tunisia - Mali (first leg 1-0): Mali wants to forget the nightmare of the first leg

Mali, which has never played in the World Cup, was weighed down by the nightmare evening of former Parisian Moussa Sissako: a terrible goal against his side followed by an exclusion in the position of last defender.

For his third selection, the player trained at Paris Saint-Germain first scored with a far too strong back pass, when he was not even in danger (36th).

Barely time to be comforted by his teammates that he saw red (40th) for a fault in the last defender on Saïfeddine Jaziri.

The Malians can bite their fingers and will have to forget this twist of fate on Tuesday in Radès to hope to qualify against the Eagles of Carthage.

Morocco - DR Congo (go 1-1): the Atlas Lions in favorable ballot

Morocco did not win on the road, but they scored a promising draw against DR Congo (1-1) in the first leg.

Led from the 12th minute on a wrapped strike from the ex-Lorient Yoane Wissa, diverted by the head of Romain Saïss, the players of Vahid Halilhodzic equalized on a recovery from Tarik Tissoudali (76th).

The Atlas Lions are on waivers for the second leg.

With the away goal rule still in effect in these African zone qualifiers, they have a home advantage to join the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
