The teams meet in a fateful qualifier to retain their place in the highest league.

The loser will play in the hockey allsvenskan next season.

And Timrå was the hottest in the first meeting of the match series, which is decided in the best of seven.

Djurgården certainly took the lead at the end of the first period when Tim Söderlund intercepted a bouncing puck and found Emil Berglund who sent in 1-0.

But then Timrå took over - with a few flashy minutes in the middle period.

The visitors equalized five minutes into the period when Nolan Zajac lifted a backhand to 1-1.

Just over three minutes later also came 2-1 when Jacob Blomqvist got a delicate pass from Erik Andersson and managed to get the puck between the legs of Alexander Salak in the home goal.

Two minutes later came 3-1 through Canadian Joey LaLeggia.

- We lose it completely.

We panic as soon as they score.

Now we have to hunt in the last period, said Djurgården's Sebastian Strandberg to C More during the second break.

Sebastian Hartmann put 4-1 with 3.20 left of the match, before Djurgården reduced to 2-4 with one minute left.

- The second period we became far too passive.

It feels like we sometimes froze to ice in our own zone and wandered around, says Djurgården's coach Joakim Fagervall.

The next match is played in Timrå on Monday.
