Before the Årefjäll race, a lot was about the tracks.

First the organizer shortened the race due to strong winds, then the water level in Vålån was too high, which risked destroying the tracks.

Instead of 104 kilometers, this year's edition was 62 kilometers of skiing, spread over three laps.

Several strong skiers were present, including the overall leader of Ski Classics and this year's winner of the Vasaloppet Andreas Nygaard.

Best Swede in third place

The last kilometers the Norwegian Kasper Stadås took the initiative and created a gap.

Countryman Runar Skaug Mathisen ended up in a no-man's land with the six easy-to-drive kilometers left, in second place.

In the hunting group were four Swedes, Max Novak, Johannes Eklöf, Oskar Kardin and Emil Persson.

Kasper Stadås kept away in goal and won, this was his second victory in Ski Classics this season.
