Cheering with brass band has returned to the Alps seats at Koshien Stadium for the first time in three years.

At Senbatsu High School Baseball, the tournament itself was canceled due to the influence of the new coronavirus, and last year, brass band performance was not permitted due to infection control measures.

However, this year was allowed up to 50 people.

The Alps seats are a special stage for those who support them.

I am pushing the backs of the players with a thoughtful performance.

My brother's cheering song at Koshien

Osaka Toin High School, a high school baseball champion, boasts one of the best nationwide brass band abilities.

However, due to the influence of the corona, the students of the brass band were unable to perform at the Alps seats of the Koshien Stadium for the second consecutive year.

Shiho Miyazaki, the director of the brass band club, is a third-year student.

Miyazaki's older brother, Nito, was a member of the Osaka Toin High School baseball team when they won consecutive spring and summer championships in 2018.

When he came to cheer for his brother, he was fascinated by the powerful performances of the Alpine seats.

But neither in the first grade nor in the second grade he could play in the Alps.

This is the Alps seat that I was finally able to stand in the third grade.

Miyazaki played the song "TOIN Fanfare" that supported his brother on the trombone.

He was delighted to be able to push the player's back with his performance.

"I still don't feel like I'm standing in Koshien, but I'm happy to be able to play and I'm happy that the team won one."

Bonds created by "friendship support"

Wakayama Higashi High School was the first to participate in the spring and summer.

Since there is no brass band club, we asked the same local Wakayama Commercial High School to support friendship.

Wakayama Commercial also has been practicing hard for 3 hours a day since the beginning of March when it was decided that the brass band performance would be permitted, saying "I want to support the local participating schools".

I especially focused on "blue pride", which I play when I have a chance.

The song was named after the team color blue of Wakayama Higashi, and I struggled to finish it with a difficult up-tempo song.

The result was demonstrated in the first round.

In the game that was involved in overtime, when the chance came in the 11th inning, the performance of "Blue Pride" began.

Even though I was tired, I continued to play for about 20 minutes when the attack continued, saying "I will squeeze the last power".

This time, he continued to support Wakayama Higashi, who won the first victory at Koshien by scoring 7 points at once with a concentrated hit, with a powerful performance.

Wakayama Higashi Baseball Club Captain Konoue Heira

"

I was very happy to feel that I was inspiring, and I felt that I was able to be the representative of Wakayama again.

" He squeezed his power and scored points, and I think "Blue Pride" was the source of his power. "

Cheerleader practice online

A cheerleader club that supports the performance of brass band.

There are also high schools that have been devising and practicing while facing Corona.

This is the Clark Memorial International High School in Hokkaido, where I participated for the first time.

This school has students all over the country due to the correspondence system, so it is not possible for everyone to get together and practice.

Immediately after the baseball team won the championship in the Hokkaido tournament last fall, we started practicing in earnest and used the online conference system there.

I have been practicing by connecting coaches and members from all over the country.

The communication situation became unstable and it was difficult to adjust the timing of the dance, so I had a lot of trouble, but I practiced once a week for 2 hours.

It was on the day of the match that about 30 people met for the first time.

I was worried if I could get the dance done.

Still, everyone puts on matching ribbons to unite their hearts.

The dance that was awkward at first was gradually completed, and the ale was delivered to the players who participated for the first time.

"I came to Koshien thanks to the baseball club, so I wanted to support it as much as I could. I think I had one feeling at the end."

For high school students who support the baseball club, Koshien The Alps seats are sunny.

After this, we will continue to pay attention to the brass band performances and dances that have their own characteristics.
