She scored higher than at the Olympics with a stable strategy of running double axel instead of unfinished triple axel.

the Beijing Olympic short program, Yoo Young jumped three and a half laps and landed on the triple axel, but her lack of rotations severely cut her score, leaving her with a score of 2.31, which is lower than the double axel base score.

She changed her strategy at the world championships.

She made a lot of mistakes, so instead of a triple axel she opted for a double axel that did two and a half laps for her first jump, and she ran perfectly.

Although she had a lower base score than Triple Axel, she took a high score, resulting in an extra 2.22 points.

The other two jumps were run with the same composition as the Olympics, but it was a pity that the number of rotations was slightly insufficient.

Taking her spin and steps to the highest level, Yooyoung finished fourth with a score of 72.08, 1.74 points higher than her Olympic time.

She is only 0.47 points behind her third-placed American Mariah Bell, which is enough to make a comeback in free skating.

17-year-old Lee Hae-in, who participated due to Kim Ye-rim's corona virus, made one jump mistake and started in 11th place.
