- No question about it.

He has been clearly the best today.

He is a guy that Swedish cross-country skiing will enjoy a lot for many years to come, says SVT's expert Anders Blomquist about Poromaa.

The most startling thing about today's three miles occurred before the start when yesterday's winner Calle Halfvarsson announced that he will not start - despite the fact that he has been out warming up and even said he was tagged in a pre-interview with SVT.

With Halfvarsson away, it was time for a fight between Poromaa and Jens Burman, the strongest long-distance skiers of recent years.

But Burman was out of sorts.

- It is clear that Burman is not in top form, says expert Anders Blomquist.

Burman could not answer at all when William Poromaa changed pace already after a few kilometers.

Not many did.

Björn Sandström was the one who had the most strength to try and thus got his own big gap that gave him a clear second place in the end.

The excitement of the three miles became instead the battle for the bronze medal.
