Türkgücü Munich is withdrawing from the third division with immediate effect.

The association announced this on Thursday through its insolvency administrator.

The association is insolvent.

"Despite intensive efforts in the past few weeks, unfortunately no new investor could be found," said Managing Director Max Kothny.

The club is no longer financially able to keep up the game.

Türkgücü filed for bankruptcy in January.

Investor Hasan Kivran had previously stopped making payments.

"This is a sad day for the third division," wrote the German Football Association in a first statement.

It is negative for the entire league and the competition if a club is eliminated during the season.

"The goal must be that this case remains unique in the third division," said Manuel Hartmann, managing director of game operations at DFB GmbH & Co. KG, which is responsible for the third division.

The withdrawal has far-reaching consequences for the table in the third division.

Because Türkgücü withdraws before the 34th of a total of 38 match days, all of the club's games played so far will be removed from the ranking.

The biggest loser in the promotion race is 1.FC Saarbrücken.

The Saarlanders were able to win both duels against Munich and are now losing these six points again.

Saarbrücken thus slipped from promotion relegation rank three to fourth place.

1.FC Kaiserslautern and Eintracht Braunschweig also lose three points, as does league leaders 1.FC Magdeburg.

Meanwhile, TSV 1860 Munich is benefiting.

The lions lose only one point because two games against Türkgücü resulted in a draw and a loss.

Türkgücü had been deducted a total of eleven points this season due to an application for bankruptcy and a violation of conditions.

However, this penalty is “no longer relevant”, wrote the DFB.
