After the World Cup final in Oslo on Sunday, a big closing party was held where basically all skiers, leaders and other roles were involved.

After the weekend, several Swedish skiers have tested positive for covid-19.

So far, Elvira Öberg, Jesper Nelin and Malte Stefansson have had to say no to the Swedish Championships in Piteå after positive tests.

Nelin: "Thank you"

In addition, seven positive cases have been reported in the Norwegian squad.

Among others, Marte Olsbu Röiseland, Tiril Eckhoff and Sturla Holm Laegreid have been confirmed positive.

They thus miss the Norwegian championship.

SVT Sport has been in contact with Jesper Nelin who thus misses the Swedish Championship week in Piteå.

- I'm not feeling to well.

I'm in the second day with a fever.

Thankfully I did not make it to Piteå.

Describes the party

Nelin describes the closing party:

- It was a good event.

We knew that there were several who were ill during the week before.

So no wonder it went there and infected many.

Norway and Sweden have no requirements for mouth protection either and when the competitions were over and it was dancing, everyone drove without it.

Then it goes fast, says the 29-year-old, whose father is a doctor, to SVT Sport.

Notable in this context is that the biathletes have lived under strict internal restrictions to avoid covid during the season, which national team coach Johannes Lukas described earlier.
