After Arnold's absence for weeks .. a new injury in Liverpool at the "knee" level

The English Premier League giants Liverpool announced that midfielder Naby Keita has been left out of the Guinea squad before playing two friendlies against South Africa and Zambia due to a knee injury.

The 27-year-old started a match that ended with Liverpool's 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup quarter-finals last Sunday, before being replaced in the second half by Thiago Alcantara.

"The Guinean Football Association has announced that Naby Keita will miss the next two matches due to a knee complaint," Liverpool said in a statement.

Guinea will play South Africa on Friday, then will face Zambia four days later.

Liverpool also confirmed that right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold was left out of the England squad ahead of the Switzerland and Cote d'Ivoire matches due to a hamstring problem he suffered before facing Forest.

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp had told reporters on Friday that Alexander-Arnold would be out for several weeks.

Liverpool is second in the English Premier League, one point behind leaders Manchester City, and will return to the competition against Watford on April 2.
