A malfunction in the Czech national team's plane delays its travel to Sweden

The Czech national football team was forced to postpone its travel to Sweden for its decisive match in the European qualifying round for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, due to a malfunction in the plane that was supposed to carry it, according to what a spokesman for the national team said Tuesday.

"The Czech national team decided to change its schedule, to travel to Sweden on Wednesday due to a plane malfunction," spokesman Peter Sedevi said.

The fateful match is scheduled to take place in Solna on Thursday, with the winner between them facing the Polish national team in the final match, knowing that the latter qualified directly to the final following the decision of the International Football Association “FIFA” to prevent Russia from participating in international competitions against the background of its invasion of Ukraine.

Sidivi did not reveal the details of the defect that led to the delay in the departure of the Czech team, which suffers from many important absences from its ranks due to injury, such as striker Patrick Shaik and winger Vladimir Koval.

The incident brought back memories of the malfunction that afflicted the plane that the Czech team was also flying in, forcing it to leave Prague late for Budapest to face the Netherlands in the final price of the European Cup 2020, where the confrontation between them ended in a 2-0 victory and qualified for the quarter-finals to lose to Denmark 1-2.
