Armand Duplantis 6.20 in Belgrade was the 22-year-old's fourth world record.

After he sat there, he burst out into a night of joy and ran towards the stands to celebrate with his girlfriend Desiré Inglander and father Greg Duplantis.

- After I set the record, I got a blackout, I do not really remember what I did after I managed it, but it feels so special to be able to hug my girlfriend and my dad who never participated when I broke a world record.

For me, it was a little more special with him because without him I would not have been here today so it was just right that he got to experience a world record, says Mondo to SVT Sport.

At the subsequent press conference, he continued to talk about how much it meant to him that his father finally got to see one of his world records in place - and that he probably could not have done it without him.

"The important thing was to win"

When SVT Sport had a chat with Greg Duplantis, he was moved:

- It feels really good to hear that, we talked about everything and made some good decisions today and the plan turned out to work.

We were not so focused on the world record, the important thing was to win.

However, he is not a bit surprised that it was a new record.

- I thought it was possible, he broke the record last time he was here, it is a fantastic place and he loves to be here, in addition he had new poles so yes, I thought it was possible, says Greg who is convinced that his son still has a lot of development in him.

- I think he can jump much higher.

The funny thing is that this jump was not so good, his running was not so good but he made it work anyway.

He can jump much higher, at least 6.30, but maybe higher than that as well.
