The Swedish pole vaulter Armand "Mondo" Duplantis has become one of the biggest names in the world of athletics.

Within his branch, he is in a class of his own and the international federations use him a lot in their marketing.

Sebastian Coe, legendary middle-distance runner and chairman of the International Federation, is impressed by the Swedish 22-year-old.

- He is a huge name and a huge personality.

He performs fantastically, and that's the way in.

But marketing and one's personality also play a role, he says and continues:

- "Mondo" fills the stands, but he also fills a press conference.

He has opinions and he has clear ideas about the future of the sport.

He is a great ambassador.

"Everyone is jealous"

Recently, Duplantis broke his own world record when he jumped 6.19 meters in Belgrade.

Today he is back in the same arena to try to take gold at the indoor World Cup and possibly set another record.

- I think all other countries are jealous of Sweden.

To have someone who is not only the world's best pole vaulter, but also one of the world's best athletes in general, says Sweden's national team captain Kajsa Bergqvist.

She also highlights the human being "Mondo"

- It means an incredible deal to Swedish athletics that we have such an incredibly fine world star.

Not only does he jump well but he is also an incredibly good and likeable person.

A good role model for many.
