It was brilliant final weather at Studenternas in Uppsala when the ladies' Swedish Championship final between AIK and Villa Lidköping was decided.
For AIK, it was the first final in four years, while Villa aimed to defend the championship title from last year.
And it was the reigning champion who started best and got a dream start to the match.
After nine minutes of play, Villa Lidköping was penalized.
It took care of Sanna Gustafsson in the best way and gave her team the lead with 1-0.
Villa could then also expand its lead.
After a corner, the ball ended up with Tilda Ström who shot in 2-0.
Just before the break, Villa Lidköping had the chance to deduct further when the team received its second penalty of the match.
But Sanna Gustafsson did not manage to outsmart Ellen Arhnberg in the AIK goal this time and the score at the break was 2-0.
But Villa Lidköping killed the tension after a jump start in the second half.
First Mathilda Svenler made it 3-0 and a few minutes later Julia Wallgren struck with another goal which meant 4-0.
- Absolutely wonderful, it is difficult to describe but it is absolutely wonderful, says Mathilda Svenler.
There were no more goals in the match and Villa Lidköping secured the team's second straight Swedish Championship gold.
- Absolutely unbelievable, I do not know what to say.
Absolutely incredible and we zero AIK, says Villas Sanna Gustafsson.
Is it an extra nice feeling when you zero AIK?
-
Yes, it's wonderful.
