Swedish pole vault star Armand Duplantis is in great shape.

Two weeks ago, he broke a new world record in Belgrade, 6.19.

Now he is back in the city - where the indoor World Cup takes place.

Duplantis has never won World Cup gold indoors.

On Sunday he gets the chance.

- It is an important goal for me, this gold.

I hope to be able to get the job done, says the 22-year-old to SVT Sport before the competition.

"Is always difficult"

Duplantis says that the form is still sharp and that he would be disappointed with anything but a victory.

But there may be tough opposition from the American Chris Nilsen - who jumped a strong 6.05 shortly before Duplanti's world record.

- It is always difficult to be a big favorite.

I know Chris has jumped well.

I know it will not be easy.

I have to jump well and I'm ready for a fight.

I'm going to do everything I can.

He is also ready to try for a new world record.

- Everything is possible, but the most important thing is to take gold.

If it works out, I'll try the record.
