Jantzen Witte and Bo Takahashi, new foreigners from professional baseball and Seibu who were delayed in coming to Japan due to the influence of the new coronavirus, joined the team and talked about their enthusiasm at the press conference.

The two came to Japan on the 13th of this month, and after a quarantine period, they all attended a press conference at the baseball team's facility in Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture, on the morning of the 18th.

Of these, 32-year-old Janssen has no major league experience, but is a utility player who can play in 3A under the Mariners last season and defend multiple positions in the infield and outfield.

Janssen said, "I want to do my best in any position if requested. My strength is that I can hit a wide-angle lens and have a stance that I will not give up, such as choosing a walk."

Also, 25-year-old Brazilian pitcher Bo played in 3A and the Korean league last season.

He is evaluated by the team as a young and potential pitcher, and is expected to play an active role in relief.

"I'm confident in all types of fastballs, including curves, sliders and change-ups, as well as straights. I want to be ready to do the work the team needs," said Bo.
