Since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine, the country's athletes have been frozen out on most fronts.

Among other things, Russian skiers have been excluded from the World Cup in cross-country skiing and biathlon.

One of those affected is the distance specialist Alexandr Bolshunov.

He has not competed in the World Cup since the end of February.

On Friday, the 25-year-old appeared in Moscow - where it was noted that it was eight years since the Crimean peninsula was taken.

Bolshunov was one of a number of Russian Olympic athletes in attendance.

Among others, swimmer Jevengi Rylov was also present.
