"You don't stop cycling when you get old, but you get old when you stop cycling", likes to say the Breton Michel Le Crom, 84 years old.

And he knows what he's talking about, he who has been climbing the peaks and traveling the roads of France by bicycle since the 1980s!

To his credit, among others: three Brest-Paris-Brest, the Tourmalet (2115 meters) and Aspin (1489 meters) passes, but above all several "Cinglé du Ventoux" titles: "You can access this mythical summit by three different sides, he explains.

And when you've done the three ascents in the same day, well, you're inducted "Cinglé du Ventoux"".

Not bad is not it ?

“Cycling gives me freedom and health”

If, despite his age, Michel maintains his passion with the same fervor, it is because it brings him freedom AND health: “By covering great distances, I maintain my endurance”, he says.

And believe him when he talks about great distances: he records the mileage of all his outings for nearly forty years and announces, with justifiable pride, that he has clocked up "nearly a million kilometres" on his bike.

Discover his memories and trophies in this video from our partner Brut.
