Arsenal overtake Manchester United in the standings by beating Leicester

Arsenal returned to the semi-finals of the English Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Leicester City, with goals from Thomas Partey and Alexandre Lacazette, on Sunday.

Arsenal advanced by one point over Manchester United, but coach Mikel Arteta's team has three games in hand and can consolidate its position in order to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Barty gave Arsenal the lead in the 11th minute with a header from close range after a corner kick by Gabriel Martinelli.

The second goal came after Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel responded with a free kick by Martin Odegaard, and Barty headed the ball with his head before defender Luke Thomas sent it off the goal line.

After reviewing the video referee and the side screen on the pitch, referee Anthony Taylor awarded a penalty kick, due to a handball from Leicester defender Chalar Soyongo, and Lacazette successfully executed it into the net to ensure the victory for the London team.
