Victor Claesson (Krasnodar) and Axel Björnström (Arsenal Tula) have previously chosen to leave their Russian clubs after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Now midfielder Haksabanovic is doing the same, he confirms to Expressen.

- Now I first want to come home to the family and loved ones.

They mean the most to me.

I want to rest mentally for a few days.

I feel that I need it and that the family needs me too.

Then we will see what the future has to show, he tells the newspaper.

Haksabanovic, who joined the Russian club ahead of the season, does not reveal where he wants to go next, but only says that his agent handles the offers.

According to the agreement between the International Football Association (Fifa) and the players' union Fifpro, foreign players in Russian clubs have the opportunity to pause their contracts until June 30, but should return after that.

Haksabanovic played for Norrköping in the 2019-2021 season.
