About 200 children with cystic fibrosis are born each year in France
145 nationalities and 55,000 runners are expected at the Paris marathon
If the day of our meeting the weather was not good in Tours, it only takes a few minutes to forget the humidity and the cold.
Because Justine Murat is one of those people who can brighten up a day: easy familiarity, a smile from ear to ear and an unfailing positivism.
Passionate about history, Justine is happy to tell us about her favorite city.
But what drives this adopted Tourangelle at the moment is the Paris marathon that she must run on April 3.
Despite a cystic fibrosis detected at the age of 3 months, a fatal disease that affects the lungs and the digestive system, Justine has always played sports: dancing, climbing, trail running… She never stops.
Activities she can do thanks to associations and advances in medicine.
We all know the story of Grégory Lemarchal, affected by the same disease and died in 2007 at the age of 23.
“In 2004, we spoke very little about the disease, then Grégory allowed cystic fibrosis to be publicized.
Her journey showed me that you have to enjoy life.

One of these two objectives on the Paris marathon already achieved
Since last summer, Justine has been taking a treatment called Kaftrio-Trikafta.
“At the beginning, I had very difficult side effects: insomnia, plaques on the body, weight gain… The “advantages/advantages” balance was quite unbalanced.
But it is the mind that plays.
This treatment could revolutionize the lives of patients, it considerably increases respiratory capacity: from "60 to 70%"
maximum potential for the runner.
"People who take this treatment no longer need a transplant and I haven't had an infusion for a year and a half," rejoices Justine.
A few weeks before the start of the race, his objective is high: "I have two goals in mind: to finish the race without injury in four hours, I train four times a week for that... But also to reach my fundraising goal.
“A wish already exceeded: her online kitty to help research against the disease culminates in more than 2,000 euros, we are well above the 1,000 euros that she had set.
But as she says “Each euro won will be a way to motivate me even more.
