In Estonian Otepää, Hanna Öberg starts today in her eighth World Cup sprint for the season.

A victory and a fourth place at best.

But shooting has made it for her in sprint as well as other disciplines.

In the latest race, the start of the hunt in Kontiolahti, she blocked five shots.

- I simply think that I have not got it out of competition that I think I should be able to perform.

I know I'm a good shooter, and I've never doubted that.

Then it's about getting it done in competition, that's what counts.

It does not matter that I sit here and say that I am a good shooter and then I miss two to three shots in each sprint.

It does not work, but you are as good as your performance is.

And it has been too bad this year, says Hanna Öberg before the sprint in Otepää.

Since last weekend's competitions, she has trained extra in horizontal shooting, where she missed four out of ten possible in Kontiolahti's hunt start.

"Not really in the fight"

- It is clearly something that we need to sit down and look at.

Find keys and reasons why it has become like this.

I absolutely want to do what I can in the last races that are left.

And I know I can, says Hanna Öberg.

In Otepää, the sprint and hunt start will be decided, and next weekend in Holmenkollen - World Cup final - three more races will be run.

Hanna Öberg is fourth in the overall World Cup, 51 points up to third and the Belarusian Dzinara Alimbekava who is not allowed to participate due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Fifth is the Austrian Lisa Theresa Hauser, 28 points behind Öberg.

The podium in the overall World Cup is within reach of the 26-year-old.

- It would be fun and it is something that I have set as a goal for the end of the season.

But what strikes the most is winning the total and there I am not really in the fight.

Sister Elvira is second with 631 points, Norwegian Marte Olsbu Röiseland leads with 728 points.

SVT broadcasts the ladies' sprint today, Friday, starting at 14.20.
